Industrial Metal Shelving

Overview

Industrial Metal Shelving units are robust and versatile open or closed storage solutions designed to meet the demands of heavy-duty industrial and commercial environments. Open Industrial Metal Shelving systems feature exposed sides and backs, providing easy accessibility from all angles. This configuration is ideal for situations where frequent access to items from various sides is necessary. On the other hand, Closed Industrial Metal Shelving includes side and back panels, creating enclosed storage spaces. This closed configuration offers added protection to stored items and is suitable for environments where containment and more secure storage solutions are required. Both open and closed options maintain the durability and versatility characteristic of industrial metal shelving. They both feature a sturdy metal framework with adjustable shelves, allowing for the efficient organization of various items. They are available in different heights, widths, and depths, enabling customization to fit your specific storage area. Whether you need compact storage or extensive shelving systems, there’s a size to suit your needs.

Technical Data

Standard Features:
  • Posts: Posts provide vertical support, forming the framework for the entire shelving unit. They play a crucial role in maintaining structural integrity and ensuring stability.
  • Adjustable Metal Shelves: Adjustable metal shelves offer flexibility in organizing storage space. They can be easily moved to different heights, accommodating various item sizes.
  • Shelf Clips: Shelf clips secure adjustable shelves in place. These clips allow for easy shelf repositioning while maintaining stability and preventing unwanted movement.
  • Kick Plate: The kick plate is a protective panel at the base of the shelving unit. Positioned along the floor, it prevents items from rolling under the unit and enhances the unit’s appearance.
  • Footplate: The footplate is a sturdy base component that provides stability and weight distribution to the shelving unit. It helps anchor the unit to the floor, ensuring it remains securely in place.
  • End Braces (Open Assembly): End braces reinforce the sides of the shelving unit. They provide additional lateral support and contribute to the unit’s overall rigidity.
  • Back Braces (Open Assembly): Back braces reinforce the rear of the shelving unit. They enhance overall stability, especially in setups where the back is exposed.
  • End Sheets (Closed Assembly): End sheets serve as the protective outer panels on either end of the shelving unit. They help create a contained storage space.
  • Back Sheets (Closed Assembly): Back sheets function as the rear panels of the shelving unit. They enclose the back side and prevent items from protruding or falling through.
  • Adjustable Shelf Dividers (Closed Assembly): Adjustable shelf dividers, offer a convenient way to organize and separate items within the shelves.
Shelving Materials:
  • Our open assembly shelving is meticulously crafted from high-strength steel (50,000 psi test), undergoing a cold-rolling process to meet precise dimensions. Following component formation in presses, some elements undergo roll forming for their final shape. The shelving components then enter a comprehensive three-stage washing process at the onset of our state-of-the-art powder coating line. After washing, they are oven-dried and progress through our Nordsen powder coat spray booth, where an environmentally friendly powder coating is electrostatically applied. The components then enter our curing oven for a precise duration, ensuring optimal bonding of the coating. This finish boasts exceptional resistance to scratching, fading, and peeling. Constructed from high-quality cold-rolled steel, Industrial Metal Shelving units offer exceptional strength and resilience. The materials are carefully chosen for their resistance to corrosion and wear, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding industrial conditions.

Capacity Range:
  • Industrial Metal Shelving units are engineered to accommodate a broad capacity range, from hundreds to thousands of pounds, making them suitable for both light and heavy items. This flexibility in weight capacity ensures that these shelving units can efficiently store your products.

Optional features allow accessories to add more customization than standard builds and allow the user to create a storage unit that is directly designed for their desired storage requirements. Such as adjustable shelf dividers to accommodate various load sizes, safety measures like front bins to prevent items from falling, and customization options such as angle corner braces and shelf reinforcements to enhance the capacity of the racks to meet specific storage capacity demands.

    •  Angle Corner Brace: An angle corner brace functions as a corner reinforcement for the shelving unit, enhancing structural integrity and stability. Specifically crafted for open assemblies, it offers additional support and increases load capacity without obstructing access to the back of the unit. This is particularly advantageous when seeking extra support while maintaining unimpeded rear access to the items stored in the unit.
    • Back Braces: In open assembly configurations with heavy loads, back braces play a crucial role by reinforcing the rear of the shelving unit, contributing to the heightened overall structural stability of the shelving unit.
    • End Braces: End braces play a vital role in open assembly setups with heavy loads, fortifying the sides of the shelving unit. Offering additional support on the ends of the unit, they contribute significantly to the overall rigidity of the shelving system.
    • Back Sheets: In closed assembly configurations, back sheets serve as the rear panels of the shelving unit. By enclosing the backside, these sheets offer extra support and prevent items from protruding or falling through at the rear.
    • End Sheets: End sheets, employed in closed assembly configurations, act as protective outer panels on both ends of the shelving unit. They enhance the unit’s stability and play a vital role in establishing a contained storage space.
    • Kick Plate: Positioned at the base of the shelving unit, the kick plate serves as a protective panel, preventing items from accidentally rolling under the unit. Beyond its functional role, the kick plate also contributes to the overall appearance of the unit, offering both practicality and aesthetic enhancement to the shelving system.
